HELICOPTER FLIGHT TRAINING WITH THE ROBINSON R44
Our primary training aircraft is the Robinson R44 helicopter, a safe, reliable, and high-performance aircraft used widely for flight training. Whether you’re starting your first flight lesson or preparing for your FAA checkride, the R44 is ideal for building confidence and skill in the cockpit.
FAA CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS PRIVATE PILOT LICENSE (PPL)
Our program prepares students to meet FAA standards for Private Pilot License (PPL). The FAA requires a minimum of 40 total flight hours, including:
- 20 hours of flight training with a certified instructor
- 3 hours of dual cross-country flight training
- 3 hours of dual night flight training
- 10 hours of solo flight time
Students must also pass:
The FAA Knowledge (Written) Test
The FAA Practical (Checkride) Exam

ELIGIBILITY FOR HELICOPTER FLIGHT TRAINING

- Be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Hold a valid FAA Third-Class Medical Certificate
- Obtain an FAA Student Pilot Certificate prior to solo flight
